Konschak retires to his own Yankee Haven

Konschak retires to his own Yankee Haven

By ALLAN TINKER
The Yankees have been pretty good to Ken (Butch) Konschak over the years. From the time he was just a little sports fan, the Yankees have rewarded his support with many World Series wins.
His Yankee spirit also earned him free tickets to a game with the Minnesota Twins, though unexpectedly. Beer was the key ingredient here, but Konschak was sharing, not drinking the brew.
The story goes thus: it was a hot and humid July day and the bar in Goodrich was closed. The bikers traveling from Washington to Wisconsin didn’t understand that a small town would close its bar and asked the nice fellow mowing his lawn about it. That fellow was Konschak.
