Korean veteran honored with diploma

Korean veteran honored with diploma

From his years in a country school in Whittaker Township, through service in Korea and a long work life as a farmer in Sheridan County, Delmar Reiser stated, “I never dreamed I would get an honorary diploma.”
But, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, that is just what happened at the November McClusky School District board meeting. Principal Dan Klemisch and Board President Brian Larson enthusiastically presented Del-mar Clayton Reiser with his diploma from the school district. The diploma makes the family’s collection complete, with only the details in the photo of any great variance.
The diplomas, in order of award year are: Carol, 1958; Bonnie, 1978; Clayton, 1979; Becky, 1985; Jon, 1988; Mary, 1998, and Delmar, 2011.
An addition for the school’s vocational agriculture rooms shows on the Reiser children’s and Del-mar’s diplomas. Carol, who earned her diploma in 1958 when she was still a Hausauer, has a diploma that does not include the addition.
