Lane Rhoads glad to be home

Lane Rhoads glad to be home

By ALLAN TINKER
Escorted by the Sheridan County Sheriff Department, McClusky Fire Department, and the McClusky Ambulance Service, Lane Rhoads returned home after 42 days of care at
Sanford Hospital in Bismarck and the Vibra Hospital of Central Dakota acute care facility in Mandan. He spent eight days in ICU at Sanford, then 30 on fourth floor, ending
with 10 days at the Mandan facility. His father Dan Rhoads and mother Leslie alternated staying with him during his acute care, with other family visiting when restrictions
allowed. His sister Savannah and brother Kayne were also able to see him at certain times. Dad kept a record of what happened, labeled Lane’s Journal, #1. In it, his parents, with notes later on from other family members and, finally, Lane himself, kept the careful record of what was happening. The Journal tells who found the accident, the emergency help provided, and what happened on helicopter touchdown at Sanford at 8 a.m. on May 21. Dad was on hand to greet them. Mom arrived directly from McClusky with son Kayne and soon daughter Savannah arrived with her friend Daniel Burbank.
