The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 124, of McClusky celebrated the 100th birthday of the American Legion on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the McClusky Elementary School.
Sixty veterans, ALA members, and their guests attended the Centennial Celebration. A slide show was presented, put together by Commander Shawn Koltes, and featured pictures of veterans, their branch of service, and where they were stationed.
An impressively narrated video of the British attack on Fort Henry in the Baltimore Harbor, which inspired the writing of The Star Spangled Banner in the midst of the battle, was also shown.
