Local repairs and assistance on delay

Local repairs and assistance on delay

By ALLAN TINKER
Local roads need repairs in nearly the entire county. The accompanying photos to this article show the severity of the water damage this spring to county and township roads in Sheridan County.
The crews, already stretched by a long and treacherous duty this winter, waited on both over-time pay and for comp time, many due several hours of accumulated extra work hours.
Residents have had to dodge breaks in pavement, flooded roads and access points, gravel potholes that defy explanation to how quickly they became lethal to tires and undercarriages of vehicles.
Add to this the necessary travel for field access, hauling grain and hay, normal travel for business and school, and the increase in through traffic by the various wind energy and oil development machinery and people moving through the area.
