Locals complete Christmas season cheer

By ALLAN TINKER

The McClusky Locals club held their cheer basket packing for the Christmas season, enjoyed a light supper and had their year-end strategy planning meeting on Sunday, Dec. 21. They used the McClusky Community Center as the packing site.

The group packed 57 packages for delivery to homes and delivered cheer boxes to the Sheridan Retirement Home and, on Monday, to the Little Hearts Daycare.

Fresh and canned fruit from Holen’s was the center focus of the baskets, with added Christmas cheer in an ornament, candy, and tea and cocoa packets. The total number of people served was approximately 85, as daycare numbers vary and some homes have more than one occupant.

Earlier in the season the McClusky Locals also donated 80 items to the food drive conducted for the area food bank. These items were matched by a donation from the McClusky Merchants. A pass-through donation helped fund this generous gift.
