McClusky honors Memorial Day

McClusky American Legion and Auxiliary held its Memorial Day service at the McClusky High School gym.

McClusky American Legion Color Guard advanced the colors and Kassidee Logsdon, Citizenship Award recipient, led the "Pledge of Allegiance."

The audience sang "National Anthem." Sheila Majors, McClusky American Legion Auxiliary chaplain gave the invocation.

Ritchie Bauer sang "I Served" while holding the American flag.

Kassidee Logsdon read "In Flanders Fields," and Skylar Simes, Girls State Delegate, read "Poppy Flower All Year."

The Men’s Chorus sang, "There’s a Star-Spangled Banner Waving," with Michael Netzloff at piano. Skylar Simes then sang "America the Beautiful."

Sergeant Brock Klettke, North Dakota National Guard, was the guest speaker.

SFC Klettke enlisted into A Co, 141st Engineer Battalion in April 2002 as a 12B, Combat Engineer. He earned a Certificate for Electrical Line work from Bismarck State College. He is a graduate of the Master Javelin Gunnery Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, and Senior Leader Course.
