McClusky Native awarded Foreign Wars honor
At Memorial Day services for 2011 in Devils Lake, McClusky native Leo W. Froehlich was awarded the Veterans of For-eign Wars Citizen distinction. The notation for the honor stated, “As an expression of sincere appreciation and full praise for services rendered to the community and the VFW,” by Emery Fisher, Commander and Mark MacDonald, Adjutant.
Froehlich graduated from Mc-Clusky High School in 1945 and then joined the Navy. He was the son of the J. J. and Emma Froehlich.
