As our lifestyle at SMH continues to be “adjusted” due to COVID-19 and the need to do social distancing, the residents are slowly adjusting to our new lifestyle.
Sunday services were provided in a new way for the residents last week. Everyone was placed at a compliant social distance seat and Jason Axt, employee of SMH
and pastor, provided church services for the residents. Following services, the residents had root beer floats for a treat. Throughout the week, Carrie Foley did one on one-type
activities with some of the residents. These included playing Sequence and fixing puzzles. They also joined in the movement called “The Wave of Hearts,” which has
people across the world placing hearts of various colors and patterns in their windows to show love and unity during this time of social isolation. There are plans to add more
hearts to the larger windows in the common areas in the coming weeks.
