New and old street rods draw from wide area

By ALLAN TINKER
New and old “street rods” showed a widening participation area and much enthusiasm for the models seldom seen in one spot on one day. From long, long, long, entries
to humorous designs and names, colors never imagined in new designs, standards remodeled to looking new, and their owners, lined Main Street McClusky this past Saturday. The town was, literally, humming with voices and engines. North Dakota Street Rods Association has been visiting for the past several years on their “Motor to McClusky” theme. With the town centered in the state, evenly spaced for travel to and from, everyone gets to benefit from a shorter trip, at least from an across the state to the border setting. The event has grown each year, omitting last year with the pandemic exception for many events. Food, music, swimming, kids jumparound in inflatables, and special craft and merchandise
booths and rummage sales filled most any visitor’s need.
