New part time superintendent hired

New part time superintendent hired

By ALLAN TINKER
A new part-time superintendent was hired on July 29, with the offer of a contract to Lee Kelm. Kelm most recently worked for the Drake School District as a part time superintendent.
His position ended when that district became a cooperative with Anamoose School District. His salary will total $50,000 including benefits. Phyllis Dieterle made the motion, Heidi Strobel seconded and the motion carried, 5-0.
Kelm has 14 years of superintendent experience and licensure in two states, North Dakota and Minnesota. He is experienced in seeking a balanced budget and cutting costs.
Kelm received his formal education from Bemidji State University (masters) and Concordia (bachelor in arts) in Minnesota, and an associate degree from Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa. He also attended a post-graduate specialist program in Fargo for educational administration. He came with high recommendations, prompting Principal Dan Klemisch to note that the two final applicants were very evenly matched and the decision had to come in the smaller details than qualifications by education and experience.
Sheila Kolschefski was also hired for the first and second grade teaching position. Mrs. Deb Klemisch was offered the third and fourth classroom combination after Mrs. Roberta Netzloff declined the offer to change classrooms, preferring to remain as fifth and sixth grade teacher.
