Playground and weed issues fill County Park Board meeting

With the first news of the meeting a step forward for getting things done, Chairman Michael Axt noted to those present at the County Park Board meeting on September 26, that the grant request went off to Garrison Diversion right after the last meeting. The amount requested is $16,372 with $8,400 for sand, $1,885 for pipe, and $2,880 for five laborers. Further action waits until another meeting of Garrison Diversion. Other sources of information on grants included that First District Health will have the final say on what is used under playground equipment, sand or rubber mulch. St Joseph’s grants are time limited to be used within a certain amount of time after receipt.
