Power line work continues across local fields

By ALLAN TINKER

With no small amount of sidewalk, or side-field, supervisors watching, the work on the Minn-Kota electric transmission line continues across Sheridan County.

The novelty of “instant” bridges across ditches with the precise stacking of square timbers is interesting to see. The bridges are then disassembled, appearing farther down the line for the next access. The work is timed so that no segment of work, concrete, digging, pole placement and line stringing waits.

With the concrete trucks now a common site around McClusky and the area, concrete bases and poles are becoming common place also. The new features dot the landscape of fi elds and pasture, bringing a new addition of power transmission to the county and state. The line extends to Center from Grand Forks.
