Recreation program offers many benefits

Submitted by Jess Boehm
The McClusky Dragons Baseball Summer Rec Program had an amazing first year, according to program coordinator Jess Boehm. .”Trista Crimmins was our head coach, coaching the T-Ball, Pee Wee, and Little League teams. Her assistant coaches and helpers were Lauri Logsdon, Chelsea Peters, Kassidee Logsdon, Danielle Elverud, and Mandy Hoffer.
“Each team ranged in age and skill and improved so much from the beginning to the end of the season.
“The Dragons T-Ball team was by far one of the youngest teams amongst the surrounding towns. They ranged from 4-6 year olds and a lot were very young. However, that did not stop them from competing against those bigger teams.
“The T-Ballers improved greatly over the course of the summer; from everyone wanting the ball to working together; from wandering away to sitting nicely in the dugout waiting for their turn to bat. They became amazing little baseball players and everyone is excited to see them play again next year.
“The Pee-Wee team was 7-9-year olds with some 10-year olds playing both Pee Wee and Little League.
