School board hears from school patrons

At the regular March meeting of the McClusky School Board, all members were present, along with Principal Sarah Beck and School Business Manager Laura Lieberman.
Board President Heidi Strobel explained that the information the superintendent would have presented was included in the handouts so he would not be present. An updated agenda reflected a resignation under the new business. Other changes removed the review and acceptance of the superintendent’s evaluation. School board members present were Strobel, Todd Rath, Roberta Hunt, Jason Axt and Sarah Crimmins. Beck noted the success of keeping school in local session by cleaning, sanitizing, wearing masks and social distancing, among other recommended CDC protocol. She thanked everyone for their cooperation and noted many of the teachers, faculty, staff and students wore masks and/or had been vaccinated. Changes to the Horace Mann plan were approved. A new tenth grade student has enrolled at the high school and three students transferred out of the high school
in grades 8, 10 and 11. An open enrollment request was also formally approved.
