Seniors enjoy partying and music for Christmas

First, on the night of December 15, music filled the halls and rooms of the Sheridan Memorial Home. The area-famous Centennial Singers, including Gerald Kitto of McClusky and John Stober of Goodrich, sang to the residents and staff of the home. The group had also earlier performed for the residents of the Swing Bed unit and other patients at Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital.
The twelve men plus two pianists also included members from Harvey and the surrounding areas of the three towns. The group had only about half of their full group to perform but the group wanted to perform as a group aloud to people living in facilities for Christmas and did well with those who could make the trip.
Santa held the residents in Christmas hugs and there were goodies and refreshments of punch, coffee, cookies and caramel brownies for everyone. Family members were also invited to participate. Santa’s stand in for the home was Jeff Martwick who also distributed goodie bags along with hugs for all the residents as well.
Sheridan Memorial Home Registered Nurse Missy Axt noted, "It was a fabulous concert that the residents loved."
The next day was Bingo Day at the home, with a Christmas flavor. Bingo volunteers and Grace Lutheran Church sponsored the party and they played three games of Bingo and had a "great" lunch of open faced sandwiches, pickles and goodies brought by the volunteers.
Each resident received a gift from the mitten tree that was at Grace Lutheran for people to select a name for a gift.
