Shooting subject stable and improving

In the early morning hours of July 7, 2009, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a report of a shooting at 502 2nd Street East in McClusky. Upon arrival, Sheriff Trent Naser determined that the victim, Joshua Zeeb, age 29, of McClusky had been shot in the abdomen with a handgun.
The suspect, 51-year old Bradley Roth of McClusky was still at the scene and was taken into custody. Mr. Zeeb is a nephew to Mr. Roth.
Mr. Zeeb was transported to a Bismarck hospital. Mr. Roth was arrested and charged with attempted murder and a cash bond has been set.
According to Zeeb’s stepfather, Dennis Bertsch, his condition is improving every day. “We are looking forward to him healing 100 percent.”
After the surgery, the doctor told Dennis and Kate, Josh’s mother, that it would be 10 days to two weeks before they would be “out of the woods” in regards to infection developing. Bertsch stated that Josh had a catheter removed but it was replaced when a leakage required a stent to be inserted. The catheter will keep pressure off until the stent is secure within Zeeb’s body.
