Social butterfly flutters to serious nursing job at Northland

Calling herself a social butterfly belies the talents and focus of Jennifer (Jen) Saueressig. She joins a work staff with another social butterfly, Julie, whose story is coming later in the Journal.
Saueressig was born in Boise, ID, and moved to Wash-burn in 2002. This is where she met her husband Kim, both working for RDO Equipment there. He was the mechanic, later the service manager, and she was the receptionist.
She decided to go into nursing and studied at Bismarck State College, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She has gathered much experience in long term care, oncology and geriatrics, not generally considered “social butterfly” stuff.
During this time she was a CNA at Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood, then went on to work at St Alexius in oncology, then became full time there after graduation for a year and half.
Then it was back to Prairie-view as a nurse manager, and then to Sanford in Feb of 2013 when Prairieview closed. There she worked at the Mandan Transitional Care Unit off Collins Ave for seven months.
With small children and long drives to work from her farm home northwest of McClusky, the offer of a job at Northland Clinic resulted in her starting work in Turtle Lake the week after Labor Day.
