Songs and Santa star at Goodrich concert

By GABLE RHOADS

According to music instructor LaDonna Erdmann, compromises had to be made for this year’s Goodrich School Christmas concert. Erdmann, who directed the concert, selected songs from the movie "Frozen" for the kids to sing. The older boys, Nicholas Richter, Gavin Horacek, Logan Weippert, and Daniel Miller, informed her that boys don’t sing these songs.

Erdmann agreed to a compromise; the older boys didn’t have to sing these songs as long as the four boys agreed to sing a song by themselves. The boys agreed and sang "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" at the concert.

The songs selected from Frozen were "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?", "The First Time in Forever," "Love is an Open Door," "Let It Go", and "In Summer."

Grades Kindergarten, first, and third sang Silent Night and were accompanied by Erdmann and Maria Steichen on guitars.

Chloe Ludwick played "The Fairies Harp" beautifully on the piano. LaNeisha (Nini) Steichen and Baylee Smith sang "O Little Town of Bethlehem." Mary Anderson, Starr Spence and Mystie Butler played "O Come Little Children" on hand chimes which were borrowed from Peace Lutheran Church.

Yalicia Noble, Chloe Ludwick and Isis Smith sang "Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town" just before Brook Steichen and Nikita Goninan sang "Frosty the Snowman."
