Spring concert earns high review

Spring concert earns high review

The McClusky High School Music Department held its spring Band and Choir Concert, along with 5th and 6th grade band, on Tuesday evening, March 16. Mr. Vernel Schneider, music instructor, welcomed everyone to the spring concert. Jr/Sr High Band performed the opening selection “Eaglerock, by Jerry Williams. 5th and 6th Grade Band performed
one selection “Bridges” by Alan Lee Silva. Each of the trio and duet performed these selections which they played for the contest at the Music Festival in Washburn. They are Woodwind Trio, Marley Zaste, Dawson Felchle and Taegen Fox, “Old Joe Clark”; Clarinet Duet, Molly Dockter and Brooklyn Lauer, “Londonderry Air”; Trombone Duet, Landon Saueressig and Eli Halstad, “Highland March”; and Trumpet Duet, Darick Jones and Brandy Dieterle, “The Kings Trumpet.” Jr/Sr High Choir sang four selections: “Be Thou my Vision,” arr. by James Biery; “Dancin’ at the Rock,” by Donald Moore; “Homeward Bound,” by Jay Althouse, and “Why We Sing,” by Greg Gilpen. The high school and grade
school bands combined and spread around in the gym, performing “Salvation Is Created,” by Chesnokov arr. by Michael Brown. Mr. Schneider received standing ovation showing the
audience enjoyed the concert. The McClusky Elementary students will have its spring concert later.
