Successful season for 4-H team

The 2015 Sheridan County Junior 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in the North Dakota State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest in Valley City at the North Dakota Winter Show, March 7, 2015. Over 250 youth competed in three categories: open, junior and senior.

Rhea Laib lead the team and placed 2nd overall in the junior contest, 2nd in beef and 3rd in swine placings and reasons. Ryeleigh Laib followed placing 10th overall and 3rd in beef placings and reasons. The team placed 6th overall. Additional members include, Kaitlyn Haux, Sophie Sparrow, Abbie Bergquist, Troy Bergquist, Kassidy Reiser, Kadence Reiser, Remington Laib, and Morgen Fischer.

Results from the 2015 season are as follows: Napoleon contest: Rhea Laib-- 7th, Sophie Sparrow—10th; Team 5th Overall. NDSU Little I: Reserve Champion Junior Team Overall, Reserve Champion Swine team, Overall individuals, Rhea Laib 3rd, Kassidy Reiser, 11th and Sophie Sparrow 15th. Towner: Sr division overall: Kylee Reiser, 7th, Alex Naser 10th, Silver team. Jr division overall: Rhea 11th individual – 3rd place team. Beulah: 2nd place overall individual – Rhea Laib; 2nd place overall team.

Coach Nicole Wardner says, "The team worked really hard this year. We set goals at the beginning of the season and many of the kids reached their goals. The improvements made by each individual were evident in the scores received. I hope the kids are as proud of their season as I am."
