Total fire ban instituted

Four items were on the Tuesday, March 23, agenda for the special meeting of the Sheridan County Commissioners. The dry and forecasted windy weather, plus input from Chief Brian Galvin from Goodrich, provided impetus for the commissioners to approve a total ban on fires within the county. They prepared a formal document with Emergency Director
Wayne Houston and put it into effect immediately. Later that week, Commissioner Sandra Felchle noted she had not heard of any complaints over the ban instituted. State and other
counties also put into effect total or other highly restrictive bans in other locations.
