Women's luncheon

Women's luncheon

A community outreach idea for a women’s luncheon ended up blossoming into an event hosting 56 women on Saturday. The McClusky Seventh-day Adventist church, which normally sees six attendees every Saturday, welcomed women from all over the state, as well as some from South Dakota, too. With that many attendees the McClusky church called on the Manfred Seventh-day Adventist church to help prepare and they went above and beyond in helping out. Brenna Hudson, Physician Assistant of Ray, ND, was invited to speak. Her core message was - Life is messy, but life is beautiful. She drew upon her personal experience of turning lemons into lemonade to speak on topics of trial and hope, struggle and perseverance. Sue Schlafmann, Jodi Dossenko, and Joann O’Hare provided beautiful music and Sarah Christenson directed a study on Queen Esther. Nadine Tedford presented on her book “Daily Dawn of Hope” which was available for attendees to take home along with a bible study book donated by Marilyn Heilman and the Manfred SDA Church. Sheila Majors talked about the McClusky Backpack Program and a donation
jar was made available which ended up raising $1,138 for the program. Majors was extremely grateful for the generosity.
