2017 State Tournament wrap up

BY TIM HANSON
After three tough games and poor shooting for two, the Trojans slipped to eighth place at the State B tournament at the Minot State Dome last weekend.
The Trojans shot just 28% from the field for the tournament. On a little brighter side, they led the tournament field in free throw percentages, shooting 73% from the free throw line. The Trojans were also fourth in points allowed with 168.
The tournament started out with Ellendale taking on the number two seed Dickinson Trinity.
Ellendale was not seeded along with Stanley and Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky.
The Cardinals from Ellendale led most of the game until the Titans made a 12-0 run late in the third quarter. They kept the small lead until a jumper from Lucas Hofer put the Cardinals in front by one with 23 seconds left.
