Underwood senior Nick Dammen currently has the top distance for the Class B discus competition, having won the event at the Washburn Invitational Saturday with his throw of 158-1.

His nearest competition at the Washburn meet was five feet shy of Dammen’s throw.

Dammen’s record is also a new school record, formerly held by Daniel Eslinger, and far exceeded the 140’ needed to qualify for state.

Additional results from the Washburn meet were not available.

The Cougars also competed at the Fessenden Invitational Tuesday, where the girls’ mile relay team made up of Mackenzie Snyder, Emily Eichhorst, Maggie Eng and Madison Holm placed first with their time of 4:32.24.

A time of 4:16.20 is needed
