Cougar golfers continue to improve

Cougar golfers continue to improve

By Michael Johnson
The Central McLean Cougars traveled to Bottineau on Friday for a Region 4 match-up and a chance to prove themselves once again. Weather was windy, cold and wet – just the elements to bring out the best in high school golfers.
Because of the poor weather the meet was reduced to 9 holes. Eight schools participated (48 golfers). Central McLean golfers included: Sammi Cottingham (48); Payton Koenig (52), Justine Lelm (73); Krista Blotske (76) and Paige Weisenberger (76).
Paige is a first-year golfer who has a lot of heart and is determined to improve her game, Coach Toni Cottingham said.
Meet results: Sammi Cot-tingham was the medalist with a score of 48 (Sammi has continued to play well - her game is really starting to become comfortable in all aspects.)
Maggie Lorenz of Harvey also shot a 48, but Sammi won on the tie-breaker
