Cougars notch game one win

Anyone who might have been wondering if the Cougars were going to be able to replace graduated senior Trapper Jacobs as quarterback this year need not have worried. Senior Ty Snyder casually stepped into the starting role Friday night in the Cougars’ 32-12 win over Divide County, sauntering his way to three touchdowns and tossing in a throw to fellow senior Kayden Hornberger for another TD.
The Cougars trailed the entire first stanza 6-0 after Divide County’s Logan Osvold culminated a Maroon drive with a 14-yard run.
The second quarter the Cougars took control starting with a six-yard TD run by Hornberger. Hornberger finished the game with 37 rushing yards on 11 carries.
