District 9 sweeps District 10

Region 5 volleyball started Monday with District 9 teams defeating the District 10 teams.
New Salem/Almont defeated Wilton/Wing 3-1 in the first contest then Flasher blanked Underwood 3-0 in the second.
The third game of the day saw the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks sweep the Turtle Lake-Mercer McClusky Trojans 3-0 and the final contest saw Grant County sweep Washburn.
New Salem/Almont will play Flasher in one semi final game Tuesday night and Shiloh Christian plays Grant County in the other semi game.
Trojans 0-Skyhawks 3
The Trojans’ volleyball season came to an end Monday night as they were defeated by the Shiloh Christian Skyhawks 3 games to 0 in Region 5 action.
Game one saw 12 ties with only a one or two-point difference until the Skyhawks took a 20-17 lead after the Trojans were called for four-hit, then a side out, then McKayla Forness got the kill for the Skyhawks.
A pair of kills from Forness made the score 23-17. Haley Zinke answered with a kill but the Trojans gave up the next point with a serve in the net to make the score 24-18 Skyhawks.
Christina Wetzel got the game ending kill for the Skyhawks to make the final score 25-18.
