Ducks Unlimited hosts gathering of wildlife enthusiasts

With the smell of good food cooking and a pleasant place to sit out of any possible rain developing overhead, Ducks Unlimited held their annual Friends and Neighbors Appreciation Supper at the Coteau Ranch. The south of Denhoff location made the site easy to find and was centrally located for ease of travel. About 40 people attended the free supper and information presentations on July 15.
A special treat was Chuck Suchy, a rancher, composer, musician and vocalist from rural Mandan. He told of the social and neighborhood climes within the state in his musical “clips” of life in the prairie state of North Dakota. The shy young man with an old tractor who had to get parts among those ordering much more elaborate and modern parts; the Burma Shave signs; dancing in the kitchen; Kenny Rainbow; Molly Steele; hanging one’s hat on a moon-field; and west Dakota breezes all found a special part in Suchy’s program. The audience loved it.
Jennifer Kross welcomed the visitors and introduced various speakers who updated the crowd on special happenings on the ranch.
