Girls win; boys lose

The Trojans played a double header with Towner/Granville/Upham Titans on the home court Saturday afternoon. The girls won in overtime, 55-49, but the boys let one slip away, 76-75.

The Trojans had three players in double-figure scoring. Kelsey was the leader with 16 points with Kim Tkach right behind with 15 points; Chloe Bayless tossed in 11 points.
Ashley Brodahl led the Titans with 17 points.
The Titans jumped to a 6-0 lead to start the game. A triple from Jaimee White Bear cut the Titans’ lead to 8-6 at the 3:30 mark.
A triple from the Titans’ Jaycee Tallman put the Titans in front, 15-8, at the 2:42. Kim Tkach tossed in a deuce from the right base line to make the first quarter score 15-10 Titans.
Kelsey Everett got a bucket to start the second quarter but Ashley Brodahl answered seconds later to keep a five-point lead for the Titans
Back-to-back buckets from Chloe Bayless cut the Titans’ lead to 17-16 at the 5:35 mark.
The teams traded a couple of bucket to end the first half 22-21 Titans.
The second half saw a very close game with each team taking a slight lead only to have the other grab the lead.
With just a few seconds left in the fourth quarter, Everett was fouled on a three-point attempt sending her to the free throw line where she put in three of three to tie the game at 45 each.
The Titans had a chance for a last shot, but that shot was blocked by the Trojans Chloe Bayless sending the game to overtime.
In the overtime the Trojans pulled away, with Tkach scoring a triple, double and a free throw for six points. Everett and Bayless each scored a pair of free throws in the overtime as the Trojans outscored the Titans, 10-4, for a 55-49 win.
The win put the Trojans with seven wins and six losses for the season.
