Jacobs pours in 50

Trapper Jacobs tallied 50 points for a new school record in a Trojans 81-73 win over the New Town Eagles in New Town Feb. 6.  Jacobs scored just seven points in the first quarter and six points in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Jacobs scored 19 of his team’s 23 points and, in the fourth quarter, he scored 18 of the Trojans 22 points. Jacobs also made 21 of 26 free throws all in the second half.
The Trojans held a slim lead for most of the contest leading 19-15 at the end of one and 38-34 at the half time break.
The Trojans led 59-52 at the end of three and extended their lead 15 points at one time in the fourth quarter.
A late rally from the Eagles cut the Trojans' lead to 81-73 for the final score.
The Trojans have just two left in the regular season; February 16 is with Standing Rock on the Trojans’ home court. February 17, the Trojans are on the bus to Kidder County.
District 10 tournament begins in Garrison Feb. 23. The Trojans get a first round bye and will play the winner of the Washburn and Underwood game at about 5:30 Feb. 24.
