Mandan Tournament

The Trojans placed fifth at the Mandan Tournament, held at the Mandan High School over the Christmas break.

Hunter Jacobs was chosen for the All-Tournament Team. Other members of the All-Tournament team were Taylor Krenz and Zack Schmidt from Flasher; Andrew Hulm and Spenser Rebel from New Salem/Almont; Zach Martin and An-drew Hartman from Shiloh Christian; Jamison Roehl from Grant County; and Hayden Sa-dowsky from Hettinger/Scranton and Christian Thompson from Wilton/Wing.

The Trojans lost to Shiloh Christian 60-50 in the tournament opener.

The Trojans held a slight lead early with all five starters scoring and led 9-6 at the 1:28

Mar, but triples from Andrew Hartman and Jace Ritzke put the Skyhawks up12-9.

Hunter Jacobs answered with a base line jumper to make it 12-11. The Skyhawks answered with deuce from Josh Wood to end the first quarter with the Skyhawks in front 14-11.

The second quarter saw the Trojans having trouble in the scoring department as they missed a half dozen easy shots.

Trevor Boehm scored six of his game-high sixteen points but the Trojans trailed at the half-time break, 36-23.

The Trojans scoring troubles carried into the third quarter as they were outscored by the Skyhawks 10-6 and trailed 46-29 after three.
