Not a good week for Trojans

The Turtle Lake-Mercer McClusky Trojans came up on the short end of the score in four games this past week.
Monday night the boys were on the bus to Minot Ryan where the Lions defeated the Trojans 51-37.
Thursday night the Washburn Cardinals defeated the boys 51-49 on the home court. The girls were also defeated by the Cardinals 48-25.
Saturday afternoon the girls traveled to Fessenden to play Harvey/Wells County. The Hornets defeated the Trojans 63-35.
Trojans 37 Lions 51
The Minot Ryan Lions handed the Trojans their third loss of the season Jan.10 at the Lions den in Minot. The Lions are ranked number 6 in the latest boy class B polls.
Adam Peltier led the Trojans in scoring with 15 points. Kevin Klemish also was in double figures with 12 points.
Adam Burchard was the Lions scoring leader with 12 points. Taylor Schwan and Ben Magnuson each had 10 points.
The Lions took a 14-9 lead but a triple from Shane Nelson and put back from Kevin Klemish tied the game at 14 each at the 1:18 mark.
A deuce from Ben Magnuson gave the Lions a 16-14 lead at the 1:03 mark.
Adam Peltier put the Trojans in front 17-16 with a triple from the left corner and end the quarter that way.
The second quarter the Lions scored six straight points to go up 22-17.
Kevin Klemish answered with a pair of buckets, one on a put back the other a twelve footer off the glass to cut the Lions lead to 22-21.
Buckets by Schwan and Aaron Kasper put the Lions up 26-21.
Peltier drove the lane late in the quarter and got a bucket to make the half time score 26-23 Lions.
The Trojans struggled the third quarter with the Lions press but managed to stay within 4-5 points.
A triple from Burchard put the Lions up 38-33 as the third quarter ended.
The Lions scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter to take a 47-33 lead. Buckets from Klemish and Peltier cut the Lions lead to47-37 at the 1:48 mark.
The only score the rest of the game were free throws for the Lions as they made four of six tries to make the final score 51-37.
