Trojan spikers top White Shield

By Suzanne Werre, Editor
The Trojans found themselves playing back-to-back volleyball matches this past Thursday and Friday, seeing the flipside of how things can go on the court from night to night. With the nearly full varsity roster back on the court, the Trojans split the difference in the matches, losing Thursday’s match to Wilton-Wing, then bounced back Friday to top White Shield by that same score. Thursday night’s loss was to Region 5’s number two team, Wilton-Wing, now 4-1 in the region. Despite the loss, TLMM head coach Amy Rime was happy with what she saw from her Trojan girls. “Wilton was a fun team to play,” she said. “It was the first time in two weeks we had almost our full varsity team back, so it felt good to play.” “Overall I was really happy with the way the girls played” she added. “Wilton is a really quick and smart team.” While the Miners dominated the first set of the match, the Trojans rallied in the other two games, eventually losing by three and six points, the offensive spearheaded by Kadence Reiser’s three aces and five kills, while Kassidy Reiser led the offense
at the net with nine kills. “I feel like the girls did a good job playing with them, and now we know what we need to work on when we see them again in November.”
