Trojans advance to semi finals

BY TIM HANSON

The Trojans advance to the semi final round of the district 10 tournament with a 3-1 win over the Garrison/Max Troopers but they are not out of the woods yet as far as advancing to the region five tournaments as they need to win one of the next two matches.

The first set saw the Trojans hold a slight lead and extend it to 11-4 after an ace from Tatum Fylling and a kill from Victoria Goven but they were unable to hold that lead as it slowly evaporated and an ace from Tessa Duben cut the Trojans lead to 21-20.

A net violation on the Trojans tied it at 21 but the Troopers severed the next possession into the net to give the Trojans a 22-21 lead.

Kylee Reiser scored next with back-to-back aces to give the Trojans a 24-21 lead but Shelby Gehring countered with a kill to cut the Trojans lead to 24-22.

Fylling ended the set at 25-22 with a push.

The Trojans jumped to a 4-0 lead to start the second set after a kill from Kennedy Sondrol and a pair of kills from Fylling.

The Troopers clawed their way to a 12-10 lead after a block from Grace Scheresky and an ace from Becca Syvertson.
