Trojans beat Braves lose to Lions

The girls raised their record to 3-0 with a 67-35 win over the Parshall Braves Tuesday night on their home court but dropped to 3-1 after a 63-60 loss to the Minot Bishop Ryan Lions in the Lions’ den Saturday afternoon.

Victoria Goven led the Trojans with 16 points against the Braves Tuesday night. Also in double figures were Trista Crimmins with 15, Mariah Sellon 13 and Kennedy Sondrol with 11.

Aulora Severance led the Braves with 9 points.

The Trojans got off to a good start taking a 9-5 lead after a 5-0 run. They expanded their lead to 19-9 with an 8-0 run with their pressure defense.

The Trojans led at the end of the first stop 23-12 after a bucket from Goven with fifteen seconds remaining. Goven scored eight of her sixteen points in the first quarter.

The Trojans defense held the Braves to four points the second quarter while Trista Crimmins scored seven of her fifteen points in the second quarter to put the Trojans ahead, 34-16, at the half time break.

The third quarter saw the Trojans go up 50-20 after a 13-0 run and lead 54-24 at the end of three.

The Trojans coasted through the fourth quarter with the reserves getting in for lots of playing time.
