Trojans beat Comets

The Turtle Lake-Mercer Mc-Clusky Trojans beat the Underwood Comets in a boys and girls double header in Underwood Tuesday night. The girls won 39-29 and the boys won 60-51.
The wins leave the Trojans with a 3-1 district record for both the boys and girls with one district game remaining. That district game is with Wilton Feb.1 in Wilton, also a double header.
The wins put the boys with an overall record of 10-4; and the girls, 5-6.
A double-header with Towner will be on the Trojans home court Jan. 29. The first JV game starts at 1:30.

Kelsey Everett led the Trojans with 15 points. Kim Tkach was also in double figures with 10 points.
Scoring leaders for the Com-ets were Alix Auck and Abby Landenberger with eight points each.
Kim Tkach got the Trojans on the board first with a short jumper from the paint just seconds into the game.
The Comets got the next seven points with Taylor Sorensen getting a couple of buckets and Miranda Pochant a triple
A bucket from Everett and a couple from Tkach put the Trojans in front, 8-7.
A bucket and free throw from Landenberger put the Comets in front at the end of the first quarter 10-8.
