BY TIM HANSON

The Trojans girls basketball team opened the 2014-15 season with a 59-26 win over the White Shield Warriors Friday night in the McLean County shoot out.

Trista Crimmins got the Trojans on the scoreboard first with a base line drive and bucket. Sheynne Fox countered a minute later as she drove the lane for a bucket to tie the game at two.

Tasha Williams started a 7-0 run for the Trojans with a 15-foot jumper. Victoria Goven followed with a free throw and Mariah Sellon added a deuce and a pair of free throws to put the Trojans up 9-2

Fox scored on another drive at the 2:57 mark but Kylee Reiser countered with a put-back a few seconds later. The Trojans led at the end of one: 11-4.

The Trojans expanded on their lead the second quarter with Sellon scoring seven of her 18 points in the quarter as the Trojans took a 24-11 at the half time break.
