Trojans over Wildcats

The Trojans were in Center Monday and Tuesday for district games. Monday night the boys defeated the Wildcats 64-56 and on Tuesday the girls defeated the Wildcats 65-44.
With the wins the Trojans are 3 wins 2 losses in district play for both the girls and boys. The girls are in a four way tie for second place at the moment. Garrison sits on top with a 5-1 record then the Trojans, Underwood, Wilton/Wing and Max all have a 3-2 record. Washburn is 1-5 and Center/Stanton is 0-5.

On the boys’ side, Wilton/Wing is on top with a 5-0 record. Max is 2nd at 4-1 followed by Garrison at 4-2 then the Trojans at 3-2, Washburn 2-3. Center/ Stanton and Underwood are winless at 0-5.

The Trojans play Wilton/Wing Feb. 4th in a double header on the Trojans home court.

Trista Crimmins led the Tro-jans in the scoring department against the Center/Stanton Wild-cats. Also in double figure were Haley Zinke with 17 and Kennedy Sondrol with 14.

Rachel Vitek led the Wildcats with 19.

The Trojans led at the end of the first quarter 14-9 and going in to the second quarter Haley Zinke scored 9 of her 17 points and the Trojans led at the half time break 31-21. Rachel Vitek scored 8 of her points 19 points in the second quarter.

The third quarter saw the Trojans out score the Wildcat 17-10 with Trista Crimmins scoring 8 points for the Trojans and Trojans expanded their lead to 48-31 at the end of three.

Crimmins again scored 8 points in the fourth quarter as the Trojans scored 17 points to the Wildcat 13. The Trojans shot just two free throws in the contest making both for the 65-44 win.

On the boys side the first quarter was a seesaw battle and ended with the game tied at 14.
