The girls wrapped up their regular season with a 61-10 win over the Drake/Anamoose Raiders Friday night. But, earlier in the week, they were beaten by the Coyotes from Grant County 54-37 and by the number one state-ranked undefeated, defending state champion Bishop Ryan Lions: 85-24. The Lions are on a 47-game winning streak.

The Trojans finish the season with eight wins and eleven losses and go into to the District 10 tournament as the number four team. The Trojans play Wilton/Wing the first game of the district tournament Feb 28 at Washburn.

Friday night against the Drake/Anamoose Raiders Haley Zinke and Kennedy Sondrol were the scoring leaders for the Trojans with 13 points.

Trista Crimmins got the Tro-jans on the score board first as she scored on a breakaway. The Raiders answered with a deuce from Amber Windish a few seconds later to tie the game at 2.

That was the only two points for the Raiders in the first quarter as Kennedy Sondrol started a 15-0 run with a triple from the right wing. The Trojans led at the end of one, 17-2.

Haley Zinke continued the Trojans’ run to start the second quarter with a triple from the right wing.

The Raiders finally got a free throw from Kristin Reinowski at the 3:05 mark to end the 28-0 run for the Trojans.

The Raiders got a deuce from Gracee Buri at the 1:45 mark but then were answered by Tasha Williams with a couple of deuces and Sondrol with a bucket. The Trojans led at half time break, 40-5.

The Raiders scoring drought continued through the second half as the Trojans’ defense held them to just five points and to take a 61-10 win.
