Trojans stop Comets

The Trojans defeated the Underwood Comets in a double-header. The girls won 57-44 to put their season record at seven wins and three losses and the district record stands at three wins and one loss.
The boys’ score was Trojans 69 Comets 55. The boys’ regular season record goes to 11 wins and three losses and the district record stands at four wins and  zero losses.
The girls have a home game with Sawyer on Jan.27. On Jan. 28 the Trojans are on the bus to Towner for a double-header. On Jan. 31 the Wilton/Wing Miners are in town for a double-header.

Haley Zinke was the leading scorer with 19 points. Jacy Hausauer picked up a double-double getting 13 points and 10 rebounds. Chloe Bayless pulled down 13 rebounds and scored nine points.
The Comets leading scorer was Abby Landenberger with 18 points.
The Trojans took an 8-0 lead to start the game. Haley Zinke tallied a triple and a double and Jacy Hausauer scored a deuce and a free throw for the Trojans’ points.
Charley Auck got the Comets on the board at the 3:38 mark when she grabbed a loose ball and scored.
The teams then traded buckets to end the first quarter with the Trojans on top, 16-8.
The Comets scored the first six points of the second quarter. Scoring for the Comets was Samantha Cottingham getting a triple; Landenberg got a deuce and a free throw.
The Trojans then made a 14-2 run to take a 30-16 lead at the 2:01 mark.
