Trojans take two from Comets

The Trojans took from the Underwood Comets on the Trojans’ home court Tuesday night.

The first game saw the girls slip past the Comets 42-39. The win raises the Trojans’ district record to 2-2 and their overall record to 3-7. The Comets drop to 2-2 and 9-2.The Comets only other loss was to the Garrison Troopers.

On the boys side, the 62-35 win over the Comets raises their district record to 2-2 and overall record to 6-8. The Comets remain winless at 0-4 and 0-13.

Kennedy Sondrol got the Trojans first with a deuce but that was quickly answered by Erin Dammann with a bucket and Abby Landenberger with a deuce.

Trista Crimmins tied the game at four with a put-back at the 4:41 mark.

The Comet scored the next seven points with Charley Auck starting the run a pair of free throws. A steal and bucket from Landenberger and a bucket and free throw from Anne Hefta accounted for the other five points as the Comets took an 11-4 lead.

A drive and bucket from Tasha Williams at the 2:35 cut the Comets ‘lead to 11-6.

A free throw from Emma Lee at the 2:23 mark put the Comets up by six 12-6.

Back-to-back steals for points from Brooklyn Anderson cut the Comets’ lead to 12-10 at the 1:12 mark.

A triple from Dammann put the Comets up 15-10 at the end of one.
