Troopers and Aggies both defeat Trojans

BY TIM HANSON
The Trojans slipped to 0-8 with losses to Velva and Garrison this past week.
This coming week the Trojans play at Washburn Sept. 27 and Sept.29 New Salem/Almont will play on the Trojans’ home court.
October 3, the Trojans are on the bus to Center/Stanton; Oct. 8 there is a tournament at Carrington.
It took the Aggies five sets to put the Trojans down Tuesday night on the Trojans’ home court.
The first set was close with three lead changes and six ties, but back-to-back kills from Morgan Erickson put the Aggies in front 14-12. A couple more kills from Ericson extended the Aggies’ lead to 24-13. A kill from Sydnie Hedstrand ended the set at 25-14 Aggies.
The Aggies jumped to a 9-2 lead after three kills from Erickson that put the Trojans in a hole they couldn’t climb out of, and lost, 25-12.
The third set started with the Trojans taking a 4-0 lead with the help of a pair of aces from Kaley Sease.
The Trojans extended their lead to 14-7 after a pair of kills from Brooke Goven and an ace from Shelby Faul.
Late in the set, Sease put down a pair of kills to put the Trojans up 24-14 and a kill from Goven ended the set at 25-15.
