Mavericks come close at sectionals
The Makoti Mavericks made a nice run in the Section 6 Tournament in Garrison last week. The Mavericks went undefeated in the double-elimination tournament until the championship games, when Watford City beat them by scores of 10-0 and 11-0.
Babe Ruth shines in undefeated season
Many have tied but none succeeded in bringing down the Makoti Babe Ruth team this season. Following two quick wins in a tournament last Saturday, the home town boys capped off their season going undefeated at 11-0 in league action.
Family Fishing Derby’s a splash
The Three Affiliated Tribes Game and Fish 4th Annual Family Fishing Derby was a success, with 63 participants aged 1-18 years old who came out to fish with their families.

Pitching leads Mavs to win
Starting pitcher Chandler Karna was wild, yet effective in Makoti’s 3-1 win over Crosby last Thursday. Chandler picked up the win, allowing only one hit and one earned run, while walking eight and striking out nine over four innings.
