North Shore drops a heartbreaker
WILLISTON - An entire girls basketball season boiled down to one free throw in the Region 8 tournament. Unfortunately for the North Shore Wildcats, Ellie Gillund of the Divide County Maroons sank the first of two attempts to give the Maroons a 47-46 lead with less than 4 seconds remaining.
Mandaree Enterprise local branch closing
Until recently, those who were employed at Mandaree Enterprise Corporation’s Garrison branch believed their jobs were secure.
Super’ gets satisfactory marks
Garrison Superintendent Steve Brannan received high marks from board members during his formal evaluation Tuesday night. Six evaluations were returned.
Parshall girls fall
Parshall’s girls basketball season ended in the District 15 tournament in Watford City Monday night when the New Town Eagles knocked off their in-county rival by a score of 71-45.
Parshall’s season ends at Region 8
Despite a great game by Parshall’s Kenny Wells, the Braves season came to an end Monday in the Well at Williston State College as the Trinity Christian Crusaders moved into the Region 8 semifinal with a 63-45 win.
Lady Braves split pair
The Parshall Lady Braves went 1-1 this past week. The ladies fell to New Town 73-52 this past Saturday. The game was in New Town. Baeleigh Brady was a force to recon with for New Town, knocking down 26 points for the home team. Nicole Packineau threw in 19 to lead the Lady Braves.
Sports injuries
We did this project because we enjoy sports, and we wanted to help people by teaching them how to prevent and treat injuries. Sports injuries happen every year and some are worse than others, even some are sports-ending injuries.
Parshall blows out Trenton Tigers
Nicole Packineau had a great night as did the Parshall Lady Braves in general in hammering the Trenton Tigers, 75-41 Friday night. Packineau seemed to score at will against the hapless Tigers who fell to 0-10, while Parshall improved to 6-4 on the season. Packineau’s 22 points were one of the best nights of her career and she led all scorers in the convincing win.
Lady Braves finish fourth
Parshall won its first two games in the Northwest Conference Tournament but then ran into a buzzsaw in the semis, and finished fourth in the 12-team tournament.
NWC tournaments in progress
The Northwest Conference girls basketball tournament started Monday night in various venues across northwestern North Dakota. The boys tournament will begin Monday.
