Just two weeks after winning the North Dakota State Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament in Bismarck, the Bob Walsh Boxing Club of Parshall has secured another state title.
Last weekend members of the Bob Walsh club became the 2009 Junior Olympics Team Boxing champions of North Dakota. Five of the Parshall fighters secured champion status, thus taking the team title.
Missouri River (Bismarck), Young Guns (Fort Yates), White Shield, Minot, Fort Yates and Parshall all competed in the marathon tournament held in Fort Yates, March 28.
Individually for Parshall, Chace Hale, at 65 pounds, Scotty Hale and Fred Fox Jr., both 70 pounds, Daniel Hunt, 95 pounds and Wilhelmina Dickens, 154 pounds, all emerged as titlists in Junior Olympics.
“This is a good young team,” said Bob Walsh Boxing Club coordinator Arne Grady. “They’re a good bunch of kids.”
