Braves comeback falls short

The Parshall Braves girls basketball team overcame a cold first quarter to push the undefeated Powers Lake Ranchers to the limit before falling short 56-54 in Parshall in the Braves home opener.
The Braves had lots of chances under the basket but were frustrated by the defense of Ranchers center Sydney Titus. The Ranchers took advantage at their end of the court and ended the first quarter with a 19-11 lead. Meanwhile, the Braves found themselves in foul trouble early and the Ranchers were in the bonus halfway into the first quarter. Aulora Severance got her third foul and spent most of the second quarter on the bench. In all, the Braves committed 17 fouls in the first half.
“We got into foul trouble and we just couldn’t recover,” said Braves Head Coach Dusty Olson. “We fell apart in the first half and had to switch from man-to-man to a zone. I had no choice but to bring in some underclassmen.”
