Braves roll over Jays

By Jerry W. Kram

The Parshall Braves are starting their season on a hot streak. They find themselves 2-0 after beating the Ray Jays in Parshall 56-36.
“It’s good to start 2-0,” said Head Coach Mark Grueneich. “It gives our kids confidence. We are a young team in the sense that our starters don’t have a lot of experience. I have a big smile on my face. I’m very proud of these kids.”
The Jays took the kickoff in the opening quarter of the game and ground out a lengthy drive to draw the first blood of the game on a four yard touchdown run by Waylen Hale. It only took Parshall about two minutes to respond when Jelani Foote took off on a 30 yard scamper to the end zone. Foote also ran the ball for the two point conversion to make the score 8-6 after the first quarter.
