Braves upset Eagle boys

The New Town boys basketball team came into Parshall Saturday on a roll, with an 11-2 record and fresh off a 70-42 demolition of their perennial district foe, Watford City. Parshall’s record was just 6-7. But the Braves were waiting for them with a plan and disrupted the Eagles potent offense to take home a 60-54 upset victory.
"Our boys didn’t come out with the intensity they needed," said Eagles Head Coach Robert White. "They thought it was going to be a walk in the park. Parshall probably played the best they’ve played all year. It’s nice to be the team that gets everybody’s best game."
The game was close at the start, with neither team holding an advantage, with New Town edging the Braves 14-13. In the second quarter, the Eagles jumped out the a 10 point lead in the second quarter, but the Braves nibbled away at the lead and it was 27-25 at the half with the Eagles holding the edge. The Braves squared the score and took over that edge in the third quarter, 44-42. The Eagles gave up 26 points to the Braves in the final quarter. The Braves pulled off the upset, 60-54.
