Braves wins over Eagles
Braves wins over Eagles Samantha Risan may have played the game of her volleyball career last Thursday night in New Town. Risan was unstoppable as the Braves went on to defeat New Town 3-0. After New Town took an early 2-0 lead and Parshall regained the lead at 14-9, Risan took over at serve helping to build the Parshall lead to 20-9. At the end of game one, Risan launched a slam in convincing fashion to put the game away 25-13. Risan opened game two serving for Parshall and the Braves quickly built up a 7-0 lead. But New Town kept it close in this one until Risan blocked a New Town shot as the Eagles were gaining momentum. Nonetheless, the Eagles came back from their opening deficit to cut the lead to 13-11. But that’s as close as New Town would come as Parshall began pulling away. It included a Risan ace to put the Braves up 24-20. Parshall picked up game point and won game two, 25-20. The third game was a lot tighter than either of the first two and the two Mountrail County teams were tied 11 times. When Parshall took the lead at 17-16, they wouldn’t look back, scoring the last seven points of the contest to win the game 25-18 and the match 3-0.
